Junior Academy

Corey is a Physical Education teacher and Level 2 accredited cricket coach who has been involved in cricket

for over 35 years. He started his cricket journey in country Tasmania where he played senior cricket

at a very young age and also played junior representative cricket. Corey then played grade cricket in

NSW and WA before moving to Victoria. Since he’s been in Melbourne he has played and coached

club cricket for more than 25 years, including over 20 years at Bonbeach Cricket Club. 

In his time at BCC he

held the position of Senior Coach (2004-2007 and 2023/24), Development Coach (2014-22) and has

captained every grade at the club, including the First XI where he won the Club Champion, League

Champion and multiple 1st XI Batting Awards. Corey has played well over 250 senior games at

Bonbeach and scored in excess of 6000 runs with a highest score of 143*. He brings a wealth of

experience and leadership to the program.

Hope came to Bonbeach Cricket Club as an overseas player for the 2024/25 season and was also the Head Coach of the women’s program.

In her first season Hope won the CSB League Most Valuable player for Division 1, as well as multiple awards at Bonbeach following an outstanding season.

Along with her dominant

season in the Women’s competition, Hope also played alongside the men in in the 3rd XI. Hope also

coordinated the Blasters program at Bonbeach and coached at Junior Rep level.

Xavier started playing cricket at Bonbeach YCW in the U14s, as a solid top order batter and off spin

bowler, twice winning the Allrounder Award. He was also selected in representative cricket for the

SECA U14 Russell Allen Shield team that went on to win the VMCU final.

As an U15 he was captain of

Moorabbin CC in their JC Craig shield rep team. In his U16 year Xavier was a member of the Richmond CC Dowling team the won the U16 Dowling Shield Premiership team.

He is currently a

member of the Richmond CC Academy in their U18 program. Xavier has already played well over 50

senior games with Bonbeach and Richmond, where he has a highest score of 70 and has taken three

5 wicket hauls, making his First XI debut with Bonbeach CC in 2024/25.

Xavier has been in and around

elite programs in recent years, and is keen to share what he has learned and continue his coaching

journey.
